‘My practice is rooted in traditional representation but I use the marks available to me as economically as possible to distill the image / feeling / moment into what is necessary, so that through objective representation there is enough room for subjective interpretation.
I explore ways in which paint can recall light, time, movement, environment and climate.
Having grown up in rural Devon, I have always been connected to landscape and the environment. My university training in Aberystwyth nurtured this interest. After continuing my studies to complete an MA in Fine Art in Wimbledon, I taught life drawing and painting in Brighton and London.
In 2016 I returned to Devon, where I now live and work’.
